Best Strawberry Picking In Atlanta

Nothing says ‘The South’ quite like being on a farm and picking the harvest of the season. April is the start of one of the sweetest seasons, Strawberry Picking Season! Let’s dive into the best Strawberry Picking Locations within driving distance of Atlanta.

For the last 25 years, the 4th Saturday in April has held The Strawberry Festival in Reynolds, Ga. This year that is April 27th. The festival includes a parade, antique tractor show, weenie dog race, strawberry pie eating contest, music, petting zoo, and more. (Admission to the festival is free)

Dickey Farm attractions include; U-Pick Strawberries, Homemade Strawberry Shortcake, Fresh Strawberry Icecream, Strawberry Fritters and Pies, and Fresh Smoked BBQ(on the weekends). There is also a farm playground with a covered pavilion for parents to relaz while children play.

This tiny inner city strawberry farm is open in late April and requires pre-booking to participate. As they only have 9 parking spots.

Strawberry picking happens April – June. However Fitzgerald Fruit Farm also hosts a fresh produce market and a wine tasting room. The wine tasting room hosts a variety of muscadine, fruit, and red grape blends of wine.

Pick up your ticket on the patio and hitch a ride on the wagon out to the strawberry patch. Minimum pick here is 1 gallon so be ready to pick!

PRO TIP – the boiled peanuts here are to die for!

Lazy Creek Farms is a wonderful day for he family. Activities at the farm include wooden train, wooden tractor, jump pad, corn hole, and more.

Mercier strawberry picking starts in May. The experience here is TOP NOTCH! The market inside is outstanding and full on local finds. The pie/pastry counter in the back makes amazing southern style desserts. The patio and winery off to the side help you cool down after a long day on the farm. Our favorite part –  the tractor ride to the fields to pick!

This farm is more than just a farm with: farmers market, a barnyard full of farm animals, kids playground, an gem mining sluice, and concession stands filled with fresh donuts, ice cream, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, BBQ, and more.

Come join the Strawberry Jubilee during select Saturdays in April. Jubilee celebrations include bounce house, petting zoo, hay rides, strawberry picking, barrel train, and live music.

15 acres of Strawberry fields to pick. Don’t forget to stop by the country store. They have an assortment of fresh produce, fruit ciders, pickled southern delicacies, and a Mimi’s Bakery full of mouth watering season pastries.

An old farm with a modern twist. The Farm at Hidden Creek offers U-pick strawberries starting April 1st.

555 Crow Road
Cumming, GA 30041

Over 100,000 strawberry plants to pick in their U-pick fields. Additional spring activities include: hay rides to see the cows, Barnyard visits with animals, mega slide, bubble station, corn crib, and a jumping pillow.

In addition to endless strawberry picking, Washington Farms has certain Saturdays designated to Farm Fun, where you can participate in 30+ farm activities. Check their website for more on dates.
